I was told to email my teachers for a grade or credit/No credit. I’m 100% sure I had a B- so I would like to have a grade for you class. Sorry if I didn’t do any of the work I was so busy working in the fields because soon I’ll be 18 and my parents said I have to learn how life’s gonna treat me plus they’re gonna start charging me rent as soon as I turn 18 and I’m trying to save up my money. Anyways thanks for being such a good teacher who actually looked at the students point of view instead of the teachers.

BREAKING THE LAW

It’s ok to break the law when you’re doing the right thing. What I mean by that is that if you could save someone’s life but you know that you might have to break some law for that to happen than, I believe you should break it without facing any actions taken towards you. I believe that’s one way you could say that breaking the law is ok. However, life isn’t fair. Why? Sometimes someone could get busted for something they didn’t do or be framed for something they didn’t do. There for they broke a law that they didn’t even do. In some countries you get shot just for speaking your own beliefs, because it’s against the law. There for you should only break the law when you know you’re doing the right thing.

Meet Nick

Well, I didn't get much of the story but I caught something from him. Like how he graduate from Yale. He also I guess describes himself as highly moral and highly tolerant, that's what I got from the first chapter. I believe he also lives in a place called West Egg and its in New York how he knows a lot of people from East Eggs. From what I read, he is a wealthy man who live with rich people and is somewhat different from them. He's also writing a book or something...
I believe the first chapter was a bit confusing for me, might have to read it again or something :)

Argue This

What is Syllogism? Well in my words I think it's a way in saying something and coming to a conclusion to a statement you made. For example, "All birds lay. Therefor a swan is a bird. The word Syllogism has a way into concluding what something really is.The minor premise is that a swan is a bird. The word Syllogism is also greek which means conclusion.

First Impression: On Self-Reliance

My impression on today’s read from my teacher was interesting I guess. I didn’t get the topic much but I got something out of it. Like how if you have an idea of something you should speak your mind. Unless it’s a bad idea that you know others won’t like. If you know answer to a question that the teacher asks the class and no ones speaks up to answer because there to scare too. You should have confidence to say the answer at loud. What I learn is that you should say what you think because it will allow people to know who you are.

Let me take you for a walk The Pedestrian

Ray Bradbury wrote the story The Pedestrian to show how cops in our society take control over their own power, and abused it. The story The Pedestrian is a man who goes for a nightwalk every single night for many years. He comes across a police officer one night who ends up stopping him just for walking at night alone. The main character can't figure why this happen to him. The thing is that he has been walking down this path many times and not once has someone stopped him. The story also takes a strong look into the future.

Mr. Leonard Mead, the main character of the story, doesn't understand why the police officer has stopped him. The officer ask Mr. Leonard Mead a lot of question. For example he asked, "what are you doing out here". He responded, "I'm just walking, and getting some fresh air, and going for a night walk" The Offer sounded curious because he asked Mr. Leonard, "just walking" As if he didn't believe him. Later on he's told by the officer to get in. At this point Mr. Leonard Mead can't figure out why he's being arrested.

I believe that the character from the story feels angry toward the police officer whos arresting him. The main character tries to find a reason why he's being arrested when he hasn't commit a crime. Before the arrest the police officer asked him many questions that he answer in a good manner. Thinking if he was nice to the officer he would let him go. That's not the case. He gets arrested for something he didn't do wrong. The thing that makes this story interesting is that he's the only one who goes for night walks.

Mr. Leonard Mead, has been walking down that road for 10 years and never has seen a person walk at night. So why out of all days does he meet this officer. Probably bad luck I guess. The officer tells Mr. Leonard Mead to get in the back of the car, the officer tells Mr. Leonard that he’s being taken to a psychiatric institution to be studied for regressive tendencies. To this he listens to the officer, and he drives alway with Mr. Leonard Mead.

In conclusion, Ray Bradbury wrote this short and interesting story to tell us that cops sometimes are unfair with people and take, and abuse their power they have. He also wrote it due to a cop stopping him one night when he went for a walk. So when he went home after the small in counter with the cop, he wrote the famous story The Pedestrian. The story has a strong meaning and a strong message that will get you thinking. All in all, this story gave me a different view of how police officer are seen in our society.

Also I just realized that the police officer was a talking car 🤦‍♂️ My bad...

FIRST IMPRESSION OF A DREAM

Today’s journal topic got me thinking. What if what’s happening right is a dream? Really hope not. I have a pretty good life going right now. Then again how can we tell, this thing called life could be an  Illusion. You can feel, feelings in dreams, well I think I can. I don’t know why but once I wake up from a dream I forget all about it. I wish I could remember my dreams I can remember some but not all. What if dreaming can tell the future. Does that mean we can see the future in our dreams? This topic really got me thinking about dreaming. I’m going to do more research about dreaming because it’s a really interesting topic not going to lie.
